Oh my gosh, I didn't realize how long it's been since I updated the blog! Since the last post back in October, we've had a few holidays...catastrophes...a vacation...you know, the usual!
Let's try to recap the last month and a half! Halloween was a huge hit this year! Unfortunately Dada was traveling for the actual Trick or Treating, but Nana and Papa stepped in to help :) The weekend before we took the kids trick or treating in downtown Hudson; it was adorable! Mason was the cutest lion ever, and Gabbie was a show stopper in her Belle princess gown! Trick or Treating went well too! Everyone in our neighborhood was so friendly, and there were millions of 5 and under trick or treaters like us! (Okay I may be exaggerating slightly, but there were a LOT of toddlers on the loose!) Gabbie barely made it around the cul de sac (she just wanted to "go home and see Papa" [who was passing out candy for us!]) but we had a great time! (Oh I almost forgot, Gabrielle was a cow and Mace as a monkey!)
The next event (excuse me while I try to muster up the courage to talk about it!) was Mason's super scary "febrile seizure" at Great Nana and Papa's house :( That was the worst experience of our lives; thus far! Thankfully we were with fast thinking, loving family members to help us get through it! Needless to say, we will never, ever treat fevers lightly around this house again!
And then came mid-November...Mama and Dada's mini-vacation! (Which after Mason's incident a couple weeks before, was extremely welcomed!) Arizona was beautiful, and just what we needed to relax and regroup before the busy holiday season arrived!
Thanksgiving was just perfect this year! Nana and Papa Davis made a "scrumptious feast" (as Gabbie would say!) and it was a great day w/ lots of family! PLUS, to add a little icing on the cake, we found out Gabbie and Mason would be getting a new cousin, come July! We can't wait for baby Feaster to arrive!
Last weekend we did a perfect "kick off to the holidays" w/ a breakfast w/ Santa! It was awesome! He came to each table to talk to the kids, then they got to sit on his lap and receive a special little present :) Gabbie was amazed by him, Mason slightly scared, but overall it was a perfect morning! We'll definitely make it a yearly thing!
As for the kids, nothing too new w/ them? Mason still refuses to talk (his sister does too much for the both of them I guess!) He has a few new signs he's mastered, which is good (his favorite is "more" right now...as in more food...imagine that!) Gabrielle has upgraded to her new big girl twin bed (thanks Uncle Brad and Aunt Kim Mitcheltree!) and she loves it! She is still the smartest, funniest, 2 year old we've ever met! People are continually amazed at how well she can talk; she amazes us with what she knows each and everyday! (Especially me, considering i'm the only one around her most of the time; I'm always saying "Where in the world did you learn that?" Thank you Nick Jr. I guess? haha)
We're really looking forward to the Christmas season now, and can't wait to spend some time w/ family (especially baby Landon! We miss him so much!) and to really appreciate our tiny family for all that it is! The kids are growing so fast and we just want to soak in as much of this crazy time of our life as possible!
Love you all! Happy Holidays!
